Kate Gould, Keith Chapman, and the City Living Garden

City Living was designed by Kate Gould and built by Kate Gould Gardens.  The RHS judges presented this Fresh Garden with a Gold Medal and the prestigious title of Best Fresh Garden, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017.

This Fresh Garden was awarded a Gold Medal, and the coveted title of Best Fresh Garden, by the RHS judges at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 featured five new Show Gardens – The Radio 2 Feel Good Gardens, designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Radio 2.  Each of the Radio 2 Feel Good Gardens depicts one of the five senses and is named after a Radio 2 presenter.  

Lee Bestall and ‘500 Years of Covent Garden’

The Sir Simon Milton Foundation Garden:’500 years of Covent Garden’ in partnership with Capco was sponsored by Capco Covent Garden and The Sir Simon Milton Foundation and designed by Lee Bestall.  This Show Garden was built by JPH Landscapes.

Lee Bestall took inspiration from Covent Garden, with its rich floral heritage and charismatic character, for his design for The Sir Simon Milton Foundation Garden:’500 years of Covent Garden’ in partnership with Capco, which was created for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017.

Chris Beardshaw and The Morgan Stanley Garden

The Morgan Stanley Garden was designed by Chris Beardshaw, and built by Chris Beardshaw Ltd, for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017.  I visited The Morgan Stanley Garden, where I spoke to Chris Beardshaw to learn more about his garden.  Firstly, here is some information on the Show Garden, but read on for a mini interview with Garden Designer, Chris Beardshaw himself!

Charlotte Harris and the Royal Bank of Canada Garden

The Royal Bank of Canada Garden was designed by Charlotte Harris, and built by Landscape Associates, this Show Garden was awarded a Gold Medal by the RHS judges at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017.  I visited The Royal Bank of Canada Garden, where I caught up with Charlotte Harris.  Here is some information on the Show Garden, but read on for a mini interview with Garden Designer Charlotte Harris herself!

Journey Latin America’s Inca Garden designed by Jennifer Jones

Journey Latin America’s Inca Garden was designed by Jennifer Jones for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2016.  This World Garden was built by Surrey Hills Landscaping and sponsored by Journey Latin America.  The RHS judges awarded the Inca Garden a Silver Medal.

Journey Latin America’s Inca Garden at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show has been designed to convey a sense of adventure and travel to its visitors.  

The Writhlington Orchid Project at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2016

Teacher Simon Pugh-Jones started the Writhlington Orchid Project over twenty-five years ago.  This amazing project has given students at the Writhlington School the opportunity to learn more about the science of growing orchids, providing the students with hands on experience of maintaining, propagating and extending, the Writhlington Orchid Project’s orchid collection.

The students working on the Writhlington Orchid Project have been given some amazing opportunities, from experiencing the beautiful, natural habitats where the orchids they grow are found naturally in the wild, to setting up orchid labs in Rwanda, Laos, and Sikkim, where the students and staff, share and pass on their orchid expertise with schools in each locality through talks and workshops, to learning about orchid conservation, to creating award-winning exhibits and displays for RHS flower shows.

Sheena Seeks and the Greenhouse Effect

Greenhouse Effect was designed by Sheena Seeks for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2016.  This Conceptual Garden was built by Eden Landscape Projects and sponsored by The Greenhouse People.  The RHS judges awarded the Greenhouse Effect a Silver-Gilt Medal, at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2016.

The Meningitis Now Futures Garden

The Meningitis Now Futures Garden was designed by John Everiss and built by Peter Gregory Landscapes, Andrew Loudon and Chilstone.  The RHS judges awarded the Meningitis Now Futures Garden a Silver-Gilt Medal.  This Artisan Garden was voted the Best Artisan Garden, in the People’s Choice Awards, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.  

The Meningitis Now Futures Garden celebrates 30 years of the charity Meningitis Now, the garden is inspired by the spirit, energy and positivity of the young people whose lives have been changed by Meningitis.  

Andy Sturgeon and The Telegraph Garden

The Telegraph Garden was designed by Andy Sturgeon and built by Crocus.  The RHS judges presented The Telegraph Garden with a Gold Medal, and the coveted award of Best in Show.

Remembering the sense of awe and wonderment that he felt visiting The National History Museum, for the first time as a child, Andy Sturgeon has used his childhood memories as the inspiration for his design for The Telegraph Garden.
