James Basson and the M&G Garden

The M&G Garden was designed by James Basson and built by Crocus.  The M&G Garden was awarded a Gold Medal, the Best Construction Award, and Best in Show, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017.  I caught up with James Basson at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017, to find out more about this special, award winning garden.

Andy Sturgeon and The Telegraph Garden

The Telegraph Garden was designed by Andy Sturgeon and built by Crocus.  The RHS judges presented The Telegraph Garden with a Gold Medal, and the coveted award of Best in Show.

Remembering the sense of awe and wonderment that he felt visiting The National History Museum, for the first time as a child, Andy Sturgeon has used his childhood memories as the inspiration for his design for The Telegraph Garden.  

The Telegraph Garden 2016 Planting List

The Telegraph Garden was designed by Andy Sturgeon and built by Crocus.  The garden was sponsored by The Daily Telegraph.  The Royal Horticultural Society judges awarded The Telegraph Garden a Gold Medal, and the coveted award of Best in Show, at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.

James Basson and the L’Occitane Garden

The L’Occitane Garden celebrates the 40th anniversary of beauty brand L’Occitane. Garden designer James Basson, has looked back at the history of L’Occitane, focussing on its formation in 1976, in Haute Provence, creating a Show Garden that is evocative of the landscape of this area of France.

The L’Occitane Garden was designed by James Basson, and built by Peter Dowle.  

Cleve West and the M&G Garden

Cleve West designed The M&G Garden for The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.  The RHS judges awarded The M&G Garden a Gold Medal, and Swatton Landscape, who built The M&G Garden, were presented with The Best Construction Award.  This is a new award, the only one of its kind, which was presented for the first time this year, to recognise the importance, and the skill, of the contractors who work at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and to recognise the impact of their work in the finish of each of the Show Gardens.

The Morgan Stanley Garden for Great Ormond Street Hospital was designed by Chris Beardshaw. The Garden is pictured here at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016, where the RHS judges awarded the garden with a Gold Medal.

I caught up with award-winning garden designer and horticulturalist, Chris Beardshaw, at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show, to find out more about his design and the concept behind his Gold Medal winning, Morgan Stanley Healthy Cities Garden, which was designed by Chris, for the community in Poplar, South East London and exhibited at the 2015 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The Morgan Stanley Healthy Cities Garden is a warm and welcoming community garden, designed by Chris Beardshaw for the community in Poplar, East London.  The garden is planted with vibrantly coloured flowers and features that reflect the history of the local community.  The Morgan Stanley Healthy Cities Garden was awarded a Gold Medal by the Royal Horticultural Society at the 2015 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
