Every year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, you’ll find a wealth of plant knowledge and expertise inside the Great Pavilion, where specialist nurseries, expert growers, and plants people, come together from all over the world, to showcase some of the special plants they grow and love.

Here’s a look at some of the nurseries and exhibits that were inside The Great Pavilion, at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016…….

Craig House Cacti

Walkers Bulbs at Taylors

Downderry Nursery

Millais Nurseries

David Millais is a world expert on Rhododendrons and Azaleas.  David is Chairman of the RHS Rhododendron, Camellia, and Magnolia Group, his interest in these evocative plants was established at a young age, as David descends from an acclaimed horticultural family, many of his relations were passionate about Rhododendrons and Azaleas.  David Millais runs the award winning Millais Nurseries, in Churt, in Farnham, Surrey.  If you’d like to visit Millais Nurseries’ website, please click here.

Hogarth Hostas

J. S. Pennings de Bilt

The fragrance from these beautifully grown Hyacinths, on the J. S. Pennings de Bilt exhibit, was a real and special highlight of my visit to The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.

The scent of these colourful Hyacinths perfumed the air, as I visited the J. S. Pennings de Bilt’s exhibit in The Great Pavilion at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.  J. S. Jacques Amand International

Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants

Rosy Hardy from Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants has had a busy time of late.  At this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Rosy designed The Brewin Dolphin Garden – Forever Freefolk, and Rosy also designed the planting on Hardy Cottage Garden Plants’ own exhibit in The Great Pavilion.  Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants are a family run nursery, based in Freefolk, in Whitchurch, Hampshire.  Rosy and Rob Hardy practice the ‘right plant for the right place’ mantra, with their extensive plant knowledge, they are sure to be able to recommend plants that will thrive in the conditions in your garden.  If you’d like to visit Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants’ website, please click here.

Vacherot & Lecoufle

Vacherot & Lecoufle, a specialist French nursery from Boissy St Leger, in France, were awarded a Gold Medal for their amazing display of orchids at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.

Cholmondeley Castle Gardens

The Cholmondeley Temple Garden in The Great Pavilion of The RHS Chelsea Flower Show featured a recreation of Cholmondeley Castle’s Temple Garden. This exhibit was sponsored by Mornflake.

Lord Cholmondeley, his Head Gardener Barry Grain, and their sponsor Mornflake, were praised for their beautiful recreation of The Cholmondeley Temple Garden, in The Great Pavilion, at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.  The RHS judges awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal for their fabulous exhibit, which featured a stunning water feature and an array of beautiful plants, including the Gunnera manicata at the front of the photograph above.  If you’d like to visit Cholmondeley Castle Gardens in Malpas, Cheshire, please click here.

The Harold Porter National Botanical Garden

This fabulous exhibit from The Harold Porter National Botanical Garden, featured breath taking plants from the Western Cape of Australia. This informative exhibit beautifully show cased these wonderful plants, to the visitors inside The Great Pavilion, at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.

Hampshire Carnivorous Plants

Taylors Clematis

Kelnan Plants

Bowden Hostas

Pheasant Acre Plants

Pennard Plants

Pennard Plants exhibit at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016, was designed as three allotment plots, one of which was symbolic of the time 90 years ago, to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday. Another was an allotment, the idea of which was based on the Chelsea Pensioners allotment in The Royal Hospital grounds, and the third was a contemporary allotment which featured a mirrored shed and interesting edible plants.

McBean’s Orchids
