RHS Wisley Flower Show 2016

The RHS Wisley Flower Show was opened by actress Dame Penelope Keith, on Tuesday 6th September 2016. This lovely flower show runs until Sunday 11th September 2016, so you still have time to plan your visit.

There’s free entry to the RHS Wisley Flower Show for RHS Members, who can also bring a family member to the show without charge. If you’re not a member of the RHS, this is a great time to join.

The National Dahlia Society's Annual Show is held in the National Dahlia Society Tent, at the RHS Wisley Flower Show. There is so much to see at the RHS Wisley Flower Show: from the National Dahlia Society Annual Show, to the Surrey NAFAS Floral Display, which this year has embraced the theme of ‘Not Quite Strictly’.

Graham King and Cheryl Caswell were awarded 3rd Prize in the Bollywood Section, for their stunning floral exhibit. Graham King and Cheryl Caswell are members of Godalming Flower Club.

At the RHS Wisley Flower Show you’ll find 55 nurseries, selling an array of shrubs, grasses, citrus, alpines ferns, hostas, perennials, herbs, succulents, air plants, orchids, bulbs, corms clematis, and much more! There are also 21 trade stands, where you can purchase composts, plant labels, tools, cold frames, mini greenhouses, and garden sundries.

The RHS People’s Dahlia Competition

On Saturday 10th September 2016 and Sunday 11th September 2016, visitors to the RHS Wisley Flower Show are invited to enter the RHS People’s Dahlia Competition. Entering this Dahlia Competition couldn’t be easier, simply arrive at the National Dahlia Society Tent by 11am, on either Saturday or Sunday, with a single stem of one of your own home-grown Dahlias. Entry to the competition is free (normal garden entry costs apply) and a display vase will be provided for your bloom.

Any type of Dahlia can be entered, just ensure you’re at the National Dahlia Society tent to enter your Dahlia before 11am, when entries close. The judging for the People’s Dahlia Competition will take place at 12 noon; the judges will be awarding first, second and third prizes. The Prize Giving for the People’s Dahlia Competition will be held at 3pm, on both days. There are some lovely prizes for the winners, if you’re entering – good luck!

Stafford Lake Nurseries have been running for over thirty years. A family run business, Stafford Lake Nurseries are a specialist Hosta Nursery, they are also growers of hedging plants – their range includes some lovely and more unusual hedging options. As well as Hostas and hedging, Stafford Lake Nurseries are growers of rare, genuinely dwarf conifers. The bulk of Stafford Lake Nurseries’ plants are grown at their nursery in Knaphill, which is lovely.
