Gardens and Parks to visit on Father’s Day 2017

Canons Ashby, near Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 3SD, are holding a Father’s Day Jazz Picnic from 1pm until 3pm, on Sunday 18th June 2017, in the terraced gardens of Canons Ashby.  This is a free event, but normal admission prices do still apply, for all the details, including accessibility and disabled access, please click here.

The Go-Godalming Association present Music in the Park, on Father’s Day, Sunday 18th June 2017, with the Godalming Bowls Club’s 100th year Concert, this concert is sponsored by Vantage Point Magazine. The Claire Phoenix Band, a jazz band will be playing from 3pm until 5pm, at The Bandstand, in the Phillips Memorial Park, which is by the river in Godalming, Surrey. This is a free concert. Bring a picnic and your own garden chairs and relax and enjoy the afternoon. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be held in the adjacent parish church.

Father’s Day 2017 Plant Fairs and Garden Events

There are a number of plant fairs and garden events being held over the weekend of Father’s Day 2017.  Here are all the details:

Saturday 17th June 2017Frensham and Dockenfield Horticultural Society Plant Sale at Frensham Fayre, at Hollowdene recreation ground, Shortfield Common Road, Frensham, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 3BJ.

The Pelargonium and Geranium Society Ninth Open National Show will be open from 12 noon to 4.45pm, in the new exhibition hall, at RHS Garden Rosemoor, Great Torrington, Devon, EX38 8PH.

Saturday 17th June 2017The Pelargonium and Geranium Society Ninth Open National Show will be open from 12 noon to 4.45pm, in the new exhibition hall, at RHS Garden Rosemoor, Great Torrington, Devon, EX38 8PH.  All members of The Pelargonium & Geranium Society will receive free entry to RHS Garden Rosemoor so they can enjoy the Show and Rosemoor’s gardens on this special day (please ensure you have your membership cards with you).  Fibrex Nurseries will be selling plants to visitors at this special Show.

Pelargonium cordifolium
PlantPassion are holding an open day, from 12 noon until 4pm. There will be tea and cake, and farm gate sales of cut flowers, plants, and seeds, as well as tours of the flower farm.

The Plant Society Show at RHS Garden Wisley is a special show which provides visitors with a fantastic opportunity to meet members of a wide variety of specialist plant societies and learn more about plants.

Saturday 17th June 2017 and Sunday 18th June 2017 –  The Plant Society Show at RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey, GU23 6QB.
This special show at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Garden at Wisley, will provide visitors with a fantastic opportunity to meet members of a wide variety of specialist plant societies, where they can learn more about many different plants, and purchase plants too!

Saturday 17th June 2017 and Sunday 18th June 2017Unusual Plant Fair at Gilbert White’s House and Garden, The Wakes, Selborne, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 3JH.  Open from 10.30am until 5pm.  Specialist nurseries from across the Southern Counties will be selling rare and unusual plants, shrubs, bulbs, trees, and gardening accessories.  Refreshments and home-made cakes will be available.  For all the details, please click here.

Sunday 18th June 2017 – Bookham Open Gardens and Plant Sale, Bookham, Surrey, from 10am until 5pm.  There will be a good range of private gardens, including both large and small gardens across Great Bookham and Little Bookham, all opening for this special day to raise money for the upkeep of the Old Barn Hall.  You’ll find plant sales at the Old Barn Hall, Great Bookham, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT23 3QA, at the allotments, and possibly at one of the private gardens nearby.  Tickets are £5 in advance, or £6 on the day, for all the details, please click here.
