Special Snowdrop Gardens, Talks, Events, and Open Days for 2018

Welcome to my 2018 Snowdrop Gardens, Talks, Events, and Open Days Calendar!  Here are the dates, and all the details of some of the most beautiful and magnificent snowdrop gardens across the UK, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, and Germany, which are all opening especially to allow visitors the joy of seeing their collections of snowdrops.  You’ll also find details of snowdrop study days, open days, talks, lectures, and any other lovely snowdrop events happening in 2018.

It might seem as if I am publishing this calendar a little early, but for some snowdrop events places are limited, and prior booking is required – I don’t want any of my readers to miss out.  I hope you’ll enjoy these wonderful snowdrop events, and this magical time of year!

Every Tuesday, at 11.30am during January 2018, the Meet the Experts Garden Tours at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 3AE, will be about snowdrops.  Each Meet the Experts tour lasts about 90 minutes and there is a maximum of 15 places per tour, for all the details, please click here.

Harveys Garden Plants, Great Green, Thurston, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP31 3SJ, are holding their annual Snowdrop Day from 10am until 2pm, on Saturday 20th January 2018.  This lovely celebration of snowdrops is a chance to see and buy rare snowdrop varieties from Harveys Garden Plants, Glen Chantry, Richard Bashford, John Foster, Michael Broadhurst, and Edulis Nursery.   Light refreshments will be available all day in the cafe.  Entrance is £2.50 per person, £2 for RHS members, customers usually start queuing outside the nursery from 8.30am.  For all the details, please click here.

On Saturday 20th January 2018, Gert-Jan van der Kolk will be giving a talk at Earsham Wetland Centre, Old Harleston Road, Earsham, Bungay, Norfolk, NR35 2AF, with snowdrop sales from Joe Sharman.

On Saturday 27th January 2018Myddelton House Gardens, Bulls Cross, Enfield, Middlesex, EN2 9HG, will be holding their Ultimate Snowdrop Sale, which opens from 10.30am until 12 noon.  A select range of nurseries will be selling both rare and more commonly seen snowdrops.  There’s a suggested donation of £3.50 and a small charge for parking.  For all the details, please click here.

On Saturday 27th January 2018, Angela Jupe’s large collection of snowdrops at Bellefield Gardens, Shinrone, Birr, Co. Offaly, Ireland, will be open for viewing from 11am.  For all the details, please click here.

From Saturday 27th January 2018 to Sunday 4th March 2018, Walsingham Abbey, The Shirehall Museum, Little Walsingham, Norfolk, NR22 6BP, are opening daily from 10am until 4pm, to allow visitors the chance to see their snowdrops which carpet the 18 acres of woodland.  For all the details, please click here.

The Chelsea Physic Garden are holding a special snowdrop event with snowdrop expert Joe Sharman, from Monksilver Nursery, who will be giving a talk and conducting a tour of the gardens  snowdrop, on Saturday 28th January 2018.  The snowdrop tour will start at 10.30am, finishing by 11.30am, when Joe’s illustrated talk about snowdrops and other spring flowers will start.  Joe will give the same talk again at 2.30pm, in the Lecture Room above the cafe, but there is just the one tour in the morning.  The cost of the snowdrop talk and tour are included in the ticket price for visiting the gardens, but are offered on a first come, first served basis.  For all the details, please click here.

From Saturday 28th January 2018 to Sunday 11th March 2018, Dryburgh Abbey, St Boswells, Melrose, Scotland, TD6 0RG, will be opening from 10am until 4pm for the Scottish Snowdrop Festival 2018.  Visitors can explore this beautiful setting and admire the snowdrops growing near the banks of the Tweed, close to the resting place of Sir Walter Scott and the Dryburgh Yew, which is one of Scotlands oldest trees.  For all the details, please click here.

From Saturday 28th January 2018 to Sunday 11th March 2018, RSPB Loch Leven Nature Reserve, Loch Leven, Kinross, Perth and Kinross, Scotland, PKY13 9LX, will be opening from 10am to 5pm, for the Scottish Snowdrop Festival 2018.  This special nature reserve allows visitors the opportunity to see many birds, as well as lots of snowdrops.  Look out for the white tailed eagle which sometimes visits this location, for all the details, please click here.

From Saturday 28th January 2018 to Sunday 11th March 2018, Gargunnock House Gardens, Gargunnock, Stirling, Scotland, FK8 3AZ, will be opening from 11am to 3.30pm, for the Scottish Snowdrop Festival 2018.  This special five acre snowdrop garden features a walled garden and woodland walks, for all the details, please click here.

On Tuesday 30th January 2018, in the Lecture Theatre at the The Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, Inverleith Row, Arboretum Place, Edinburgh, EH3 5LR, Lady Catherine Erskine, from Cambo Estate, will be giving a talk about snowdrops and their role in the redevelopment of the gardens at Cambo Estate.  This event takes place from 7.30pm to 9pm, Entry is £7 for non members and £5 for members, for all the details, please click here.

At Welford Park, Welford, Newbury, Berkshire, RG20 8HU, you can visit their wonderful beech woods which are underplanted with carpets of Galanthus nivalis, the rarer snowdrop varieties can be found in the formal gardens.  The gardens at Welford Park are open from Wednesday 31st January 2018 until Sunday 4th March 2018, opening from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am until 4pm.  Please note – the gardens at Welford Park are always closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Welford Park is a private home, please check their opening times before visiting the gardens.

Dawyck Botanic Gardens, Stobo, near Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, EH45 9JU, are open daily from 1st February 2018, from 10am until 4pm.  Dawyck is a truly wonderful, beautiful, very steep, hilly, woodland garden, which features beautiful swathes of snowdrops during February and March each year.  Entrance is £6.50 for adults, £5.50 for concessions, free for children and essential carers, and RBGE members also enter free of charge.  For all the details, please click here.

Kailzie Gardens, Kailzie, Peebles, Scottish Borders, EH45 9HT, boasts a beautiful woodland garden with swathes of snowdrops.  Kailzie Gardens are a lovely place to take a snowdrop walk.  Kailzie Gardens are open daily, for all the details, please click here.

During the month of February 2018, Primrose Hill, Primrose Lane, Lucan, Co Dublin, Ireland, will open from 2pm until 6pm daily, so that visitors can admire their collection of snowdrops, for all the details, please click here.

East Lambrook Manor Gardens, East Lambrook, South Petherton, Somerset, TA13 5HH, will be opening from the 1st February 2018, from 10am until 5pm, from Tuesday to Sunday each week during February (East Lambrook Manor Gardens are always closed on Mondays).  During March, East Lambrook Manor Gardens will be opening from Tuesday, until Saturday each week, when they will be closed on Sundays and Mondays during March.  East Lambrook Manor Gardens will be opening on Saturday 17th February 2018 for the NGS Snowdrop Festival.  Visitors with a copy of the winter edition of the Country Gardener can benefit from the offer of a two for one entry price, by bringing  East Lambrook Manor Gardens’ advertisement in Country Gardener magazine with them.  Visitors will find around 30 varieties of snowdrops for sale at East Lambrook Manor Gardens, which are available in varying quantities.

Abriachan Garden Nursery, Abriachan, Highland, Scotland, IV3 8LA, will be opening from Thursday 1st February 2018 to Sunday 11th March 2018 from 9am until 7pm, for the Scottish Snowdrop Festival.  Explore four acres of beautiful woodland gardens carpeted with snowdrops with views over Loch Ness.  For all the details, please click here.

Scone Palace, Perth, Scotland, PH2 6BD, will be opening from Friday 2nd February 2018 to Sunday 4th February 2018, again from Friday 9th February 2018 to Sunday 11th February 2018, again from Friday 16th February 2018 to Sunday 18th February 2018, again from Friday 23rd February 2018 to Sunday 25th February 2018, again from Friday 2nd March 2018 to Sunday 4th March 2018, and lastly from Friday 9th March 2018 to Sunday 11th March 2018, for a Celebration of Snowdrops.  The gardens will be opening from 10am until 4pm, visitors can enjoy seeing the snowdrops, the majority of which are varieties of Galanthus nivalis, throughout the 100 acres of gardens and grounds.

Cambo Snowdrops in Fife, Scotland, supply snowdrops in the green, as well as Leucojum vernum, wild garlic and aconites.  Cambo is a great garden to visit, with 70 acres of snowdrop woods to explore, Cambo’s Snowdrop Festival runs from Friday 2nd February 2018 through until Sunday 11th March 2018.

The Alpine Garden Society are holding their annual Snowdrop Day on Saturday 3rd February 2018, at Ford Hall, Lilleshall National Conferencing Centre, Newport, Shropshire, TF10 9AT.  The AGS Snowdrop Day features snowdrop lectures from Andy Byfield, Wim Boens, and David MacLennan, who will be giving a lecture entitled ‘Holding a National Snowdrop Collection’.  There will also be a snowdrop question and answer session. Attendees can purchase snowdrops at the AGS Plant Sale, which is open until 4.30pm, nurseries attending include: Edulis, Monksilver, Glen Chantry, Woodchippings, Matt Bishop, Ivycroft, and their will also be an AGS stand where a selection of gardening books are available for purchase.  This is a popular event where the tickets are sold in advance, and places are limited – it’s wise to buy your tickets early.  For all the information, please click here.

From Saturday 3rd February 2018 to Sunday 11th March 2018, Ardmaddy Castle, Oban, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, PA34 4QY, will be opening from 9am until 5pm, for the Scottish Snowdrop Festival, from for all the details, please click here.

On Saturday 3rd February 2018, a Snowdrop Gala, with other spring treasures, will be held from 9.30am until 5pm, at Ballykealey Manor Hotel, near Altamont, Ballon, Carlow, Ireland.  Retired Biomedical Scientist Jim Almond will be giving a talk entitled ‘Snowdrops in the Green’ and Graham Gough of Marchants Hardy Plants, will be giving a talk entitled ‘Spring Bedfellows’ at this special snowdrop event.  In the afternoon, there will be a guided tour of Altamont with Paul Cutler.  Avon Bulbs, Altamont Plants, Assumpta Broomfield, Coosheen Plants, Jim Almond, and Marchants Hardy Plants, will all be at the Plant and Bulb Sale.  Tickets are €70 if purchased before the 19th January 2018, which includes the lectures, lunch at Ballykealey Manor, admission to the bulb sale, a guided tour, and afternoon tea and cake at Altamont.  To book your place at this special Snowdrop Gala, or for more details, contact Hester Forde of Coosheen Garden – you can telephone Hester on 086 865 4972 or email – hesterforde@gmail.com, or alternatively contact Robert Miller of Altamont Plants – telephone Robert on 087 982 2135 or email sales@altamontplants.com

Every Wednesday to Sunday, from Saturday 3rd February 2018 to Thursday 1st March 2018, Burton House and Gardens, Athy, Co. Kildare, Ireland, will be opening for a special month of snowdrops.  Visitors can admire over 60 varieties of snowdrop, for all the details, please click here.

On Saturday 3rd February 2018, at the Chelsea Physic Garden, from 10.30am until 4.30pm, Photographer Sue Bishop, is running a one day course about ‘Photographing Snowdrops’, places are limited and pre-booking is required, tickets are £108, which includes refreshments and a light lunch.  To book your place and for all the details, please click here.

Knowle Hill Farm, Ulcombe, Maidstone, Kent, ME17 1ES,  will be opening on Saturday 3rd February 2018 and Sunday 4th February 2018, from 11am until 3pm, for the NGS.  This two acre garden, which is situated on the south facing slopes of the North Downs, has been in creation for the past thirty years.  Visitors can admire the gardens’ snowdrops, which include 100 named varieties, a spreading carpet of Galanthus nivalis, and self sown Galanthus elwesii and Galanthus plicatus, amongst hellebores, and topiary, with hot sausage rolls on these special open days!  The owner of Knowle Hill Farm is happy to receive small groups of visitors with prior notice during February, please see Knowle Hill Farm’s website for contact details.  Spring Platt is another snowdrop garden that is near Knowle Hill Farm, for all the details, please click here.

Forde Abbey, Chard, Somerset, TA20 4LU, is holding special Snowdrop Weekends every weekend in February, from Saturday 3rd February 2018, until Sunday 25th February 2018.  Visitors will be able to enjoy the 30 acres of gardens carpeted in a spectacular display of snowdrops.  Visitors will be able to admire large numbers of Galanthus nivalis, as well as the double form, Galanthus nivalis f. pleniflorus ‘Flore Pleno‘, and Galanthus atkinsii in the Rock Garden.  Entrance is charged at the reduced rate of £5 during February.

Valleyfield Woodland Park, Near Shiresmill, Dunfermline, Scotland, KY12 8ER, will be opening from Saturday 3rd February 2018 to Sunday 4th February 2018, again from Saturday 10th February 2018 to Sunday 11th February 2018, again from Saturday 17th February 2018 to Sunday 18th February 2018, again from Saturday 24th February 2018 to Sunday 25th February 2018, again from Saturday 3rd March 2018 to Sunday 4th March 2018, and lastly from Saturday 10th March 2018 to Sunday 11th March 2018.  Valleyfield Woodland Park features the remnants of the only Humphry Repton designed landscape in Scotland.  Swathes of naturalised snowdrops have spread across the park.  Valleyfield Woodland Park are opening as part of the Celebration of Snowdrops, for the Scottish Snowdrop Festival, as part of Fife’s Snowdrops Spectacular.  Experienced guides will lead walks at 2pm each weekend, for all the details, please click here.

On Sunday 4th February 2018, East Ruston Old Vicarage, East Ruston, Norwich, Norfolk, NR12 9HN, will host a Snowdrop Specialist Growers Day, which will commence at 10am.  Specialist growers include Joe Sharman from Monksilver Nursery, Jelly Cottage Plants, Brian Ellis, Michael Broadhurst from Rainbow Farm, and Ben Potterton.  Guest speaker Ben Potterton, will give a talk at 1pm.  Entry is £3.50, refreshments are available, for all the details, please click here.

Logan Botanic Garden, Port Logan, Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, DG9 9ND. From Wednesday 7th February 2018 until Sunday 4th March 2018, from 12 noon until 4pm, Benington Lordship Gardens, Benington Lordship, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, SG2 7BS, are holding their Snowdrop Open Days, where visitors can admire the large drifts of snowdrops that feature in the gardens, the garden features many other plants with winter interest, such as hellebores, aconites, and winter flowering shrubs.  Benington Lordship Gardens have a collection of rare and unusual snowdrops, including two hundred labelled snowdrop varieties.  Single and double snowdrops, together with a limited number of named snowdrop varieties will be offered for sale, for all the details, please click here.

Thenford Gardens and Arboretum, in Northamptonshire, are opening from 2pm until 5.30pm, for two special Snowdrop Days on Wednesday the 7th February 2018 and on Saturday 18th February 2018.  Tickets are £10 per person and are available in advance, for all the details, please click here.

On Saturday 10th February 2018 Ashwood Nurseries, Ashwood Lower Lane, Kingswinford, West Midlands, DY6 0AE, are holding John’s Garden Open Day from 10am until 4pm.  Visitors can explore Ashwood Nurseries’ owner, John Massey’s 3 acre garden, which is set against the backdrop of a canal and features many rare plants.  Refreshments are available in the Tea Room.  Named snowdrops, Hellebores, ferns, winter and spring flowering bulbs will be available to purchase.  All tickets must be booked in advance, tickets are £5 each, (please pay in cash, all proceeds go to charity) for all the information, please click here.

On Saturday 10th February 2018, guest speaker Paul Smyth will  deliver a talk entitled ‘Snowdrops and Spring Bulbs: The Good, The Bad, and The Indifferent’ at Woodville, Kilchreest, Galway, Ireland.  The garden will reopen from the 1st February 2018, with a guided tour at 2pm, each weekend, from Friday to Sunday during February, for all the details, please click here.

Bruckhills Croft, Rothienorman, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, AB51 8YB, will be opening by prior arrangement (due to limited parking) as part of the Scottish Snowdrop Festival, from Saturday 10th February 2018, to Sunday 11th March 2018.  Telephone 01651 821596 to arrange a visit, or visit Bruckhills Croft’s website and Facebook Page which will feature updates nearer the time.  Bruckhills Croft’s owner Helen Rushton, was featured on the first episode of the TV programme The Beechgrove Garden in 2017, showing Carole Baxter around her collection of 350 Snowdrops.  There will be a good selection of potted Snowdrops for sale for visitors to Bruckhills Croft.

On Saturday 10th February 2018 and Sunday 11th February 2018Hanwell Community Observatory, Banbury, North Oxfordshire, OX17 1HN, are holding their annual Stars and Snowdrops Event, where visitors can take a woodland walk amongst vast, ancient, snowdrop colonies, see the progress being made on the Millennium Telescope, talk to the astronomers, and have an opportunity to look through astronomical telescopes, with tea and cake by a log fire to follow.  For all the details, please click here.

Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum, Alnwick, Northumberland, NE66 3LB, will be opening from Saturday 10th February 2018 to Saturday 24th March 2018, from 10.30am until 4pm, every Wednesday to Sunday each week.  The collection of snowdrops that you can see at Howick Hall Gardens and arboretum, were mainly planted by Lady Grey between the world wars.  The snowdrops have spread and multiplied and form beautiful drifts which can be seen throughout the gardens.

On Sunday 11th February 2018, there’s a Snowdrop and Early Spring Plant Fair at Hole Park, Benenden Road, Rolvenden, Kent, TN17 4JA.  This special plant fair opens from 11am until 3pm, admission is £4.

On Sunday 11th February 2018, Mitchmere Farm Garden, Stoughton, Chichester, West Sussex, PO18 9JW, will open from 11am until 4pm for the Sussex Snowdrop Trust.  Mitchmere Farm Garden comprises two acres of ground, there will be refreshments available and snowdrops for sale.  Entrance is £4 children enter for free, no dogs please.

On Sunday 11th February 2018 and Sunday 18th February 2018Goldsborough Hall, Church Street, Goldsborough, North Yorkshire, HG5 8NR, are opening from 10am until 4pm, for their Snowdrop Days.  Visitors can enjoy walking in eleven acres of grounds and gardens featuring the single snowdrop, Galanthus nivalis, and the double snowdrop, Galanthus nivalis f. pleniflorus ‘Flore Pleno’, as well as a Species Snowdrop Walk, which features forty rare varieties of snowdrops, for all the details, please click here.

Monday 12th February 2018, Tuesday 13th February 2018, and Wednesday 14th February 2018 – The RHS London Early Spring Plant Fair at the RHS Lawrence Hall, Westminster, London. Colesbourne Park, Colesbourne, Near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL53 9NP, are holding a Snowdrop Study Day on Thursday 15th February.  This special study day starts at 10am and finishes at 3.30pm.  Richard Webb, the Head Gardener at Benington Lordship will be giving a talk entitled ‘Creating and Managing a Snowdrop Collection – Benington Lordship’.  This talk will be followed by a tour of the snowdrop collection at Colesbourne Park.  Delegates can bring their own lunch if they wish, or enjoy lunch in the cafe at Colesbourne Park, there’s a choice of dishes on the ‘snowdrop menu’.  After lunch, Sir Henry Elwes, the great-grandson of H. On Saturday 17th February 2018 and Sunday 18th February 2018Primrose Bank Nursery, Red Roofs, Dauby Lane,  Kexby, York, North Yorkshire, YO41 5LH (Telephone 01759 380220, or 07774 944447, or email suegoodwill@yahoo.co.uk), will be opening their developing snowdrop winter and spring garden, which adjoins their RHS Gold Medal winning Perennial Plant Nursery for the Yorkshire Snowdrop Trail, to raise funds and awareness for the Anthony Nolan Trust.  Horticultural Lecturer Michael Myers, The horticulturist of the Winter Garden at RHS Garden Harlow, Carr Russell Watkins, and Internationally renowned snowdrop and Narcissi breeder Anne Wright, will be giving talks and hosting a Gardeners Question Time at Primrose Bank. Talks will be given on both days, please check for a timetable closer to the event.  Anne Wright from Dryad Nursery will be selling snowdrops, Narcissi and other delights.  Dryad Nursery has offered one of their sought-after Dryad Gold snowdrops for auction on the Sunday, at Primrose Bank.  All proceeds from the auction will go to Anthony Nolan.  Hellebores and early spring flowering plants will be available in the nursery, refreshments will also be available.

Kiplin Hall, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL10 6AT, Telephone 01748 818178 will be opening for the Yorkshire Snowdrop Trail on Saturday 17th February 2018 and Sunday 18th February 2018. Thousands of Snowdrops and Aconites grow in the woods and gardens surrounding Kiplin Hall, which was built in the 1620s. The Tearoom and Gardens will be open, and there will be sales of snowdrops in the green and winter aconites.

Thorp Perrow, Bedale, North Yorkshire, DL8 2PS, (Telephone 01677 425323, or email: enquiries@thorpperrow.com) will be opening for the Yorkshire Snowdrop Trail on Saturday 17th February 2018 and Sunday 18th February 2018.  Carpets of snowdrops, including many rare varieties, cover the floor of this 100 acre Arboretum, which is home to one of the largest collections of trees and shrubs in the North of England.

All of the gardens that are open for the Yorkshire Snowdrop Trail on Saturday 17th February 2018 and Sunday 18th February 2018, are very different.  I am told that the gardens are close enough together to allow for visiting some, or all of the gardens over this special weekend.  Please contact the venues directly for further details, or for advice in the case of bad weather.  Anne Wright of Dryad Nursery and Michael Myers will be at Primrose Bank selling snowdrops, Narcissus and Hepatica.  Please note that Dryad Nursery will not be open.

The Welford Park Plant Fair is a specialist plant fair specialising in winter and spring flowering plants, as well as bulbs and seeds for the summer, it’s held at the beautiful Welford Park in Berkshire on Wednesday 28th February 2018 and Thursday 1st March 2018 from 11am until 4pm, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.  The Snowdrop Tearoom will also be open, and there’s a plant creche too.

Snowdrop Events in Belgium

Snowdrop Events in Germany

On Saturday 24th February 2018 and Sunday 25th of February 2018 the Schneeglöckchen-Tage (Snowdrop Days and Plant Market) will take place in the Luisenpark in Mannheim, in Germany.  This is an international plant market for snowdrops and other special garden treasures.  Visitors can enjoy and purchase a great many snowdrops, they will also have the chance to speak to expert snowdrop growers, and purchase other spring flowering, perennial, woody, and rock garden plants.  Anne C. Repnow and Iris Ney will be giving guided tours of the Wintergarten.  There will be Snowdrop Talks, a Snowdrop Photograph Exhibition, as well as songs inspired by snowdrops.  For all the details, please click here.

Snowdrop Events in Holland

This year is the 11th anniversary of the flower bulb tour in East Groningen, Holland.  A large number of additional bulbs were planted last autumn to ensure a spectacular display for visitors to East Groningen in 2018 and beyond.  Each of the four gardens that open for this special event are very different, each garden has its own character and atmosphere.

East Groningen are holding their special Snowdrop Sundays on Sunday 25th February 2018, and Sunday 4th March 2018.  Following the Snowdrop Sundays, Crocus Sundays will be held on Sunday 18th March 2018Sunday 15th April 2018, Sunday 22nd April 2018 and Sunday 29th April 2018, visitors will be able to admire a wide range of spring flowering bulbs during these special Sunday openings.  The gardens will open from 11am until 5pm.

The participating East Groningen Gardens are:

The Stonefarm’, Anna en Tinus Scheltens, Zijdstukkerweg 7, 9501 LB Stadskanaal.
Visitors will find that even the roadsides outside this 20.000 m2 garden are covered with spring flowering bulbs.  This landscape garden features a number of large boulders, and a large Snowdrop and Crocus meadow.

City Channel Garden’, Lida Lourens, H.J. Kniggestraat 101, 9501 NJ Stadskanaal.
This 2.500m2 garden features an array of spring flowers, including a variety of different snowdrops, Camellias, Crocus, Puschkinias, Muscari, Fritillaries, and Scillas.  In March and April visitors can also see Narcissus, Tulips, and early flowering Primulas.

Tuinfleur’, Rika en Pieter van Delden, Nieuweweg 34, 9682 RM Oostwold.
This 6.000 m2, long, (350m) narrow garden, is divided into ten separate rooms.  Situated on the shores of the Oldambtlake, there is a great variety of plants growing in this garden.  Visitors can admire thousands of snowdrops, which include 150 different cultivars, in this garden, there are also Scilla, Muscari, Chionodoxia, Narcissus, Tulips, Allium, Leucojum, and Hellebores to be enjoyed.

Wubsbos’, Jannie Bos, St.Vitusholt 86, 9673 AK Winschoten.
This 1.700 m2 woodland garden features carpets of early spring snowdrops.  The snowdrops are followed by wild spring flowers and Narcissus, which cover the garden later in spring time.

New Snowdrop Books

Jane Kilpatrick and Jennifer Harmer are historians, they are currently writing a book called GALANTHOPHILES, A History of Snowdrop Enthusiasts, 1856-2014, which will be published in October 2018.  Galanthophiles interweaves the stories of individual Galanthophiles with accounts of the introduction of new snowdrop species and the discovery of new snowdrop varieties, providing a history of Galanthus cultivation in Britain from 1854-2014.  This new book will be illustrated with many previously unpublished photos of the most important Galanthophiles of the last 160 years.

    1. Det är så underbart! Jag hoppas att du kommer att kunna göra resan. Snowdrops är bara vackra, och det är underbart att se dessa härliga blommor som bildar magiska mattor. Jag tänker ofta på 14 februari som den perfekta tiden att se snodrops, så du har fortfarande tid att se dessa vackra blommor på sitt bästa i år! Lycka till!
