Gardens Offering Free Entry to Fathers on Father’s Day 2018

This year, Father’s Day will be held on Sunday 17th June 2018.  I hope that this list of special garden events and activities held over the Father’s Day 2018 weekend will help you to enjoy a memorable, happy, and very special weekend with your family and friends.  Here are the gardens and venues that are celebrating Father’s Day 2018 by offering discounts or free entry to fathers.  Each offer varies, so I have listed each Father’s Day offer separately.

Gardens offering free entry to Fathers on Father’s Day 2018:

The Big Sheep, Abbotsham, Bideford, Devon, EX39 5AP, are offering free entry to all Fathers who are accompanied by a full price, paying child, on Father’s Day, Sunday 17th June 2018, for all the details, please click here.

Coughton Court, Alcester, Warickshire, B49 5JA.  Coughton Court are holding a Duck Race on Father’s Day, Sunday 17th June 2018.  Normal admission charges apply, for all the details, including accessibility and disabled access, please click here.

The Go-Godalming Association present Music in the Park, on Father’s Day, Sunday 17th June 2018, with the Godalming Bowls Club’s 100th year Concert, this concert is sponsored by Prime Place.  The Massed Bands of Farnham, Haslemere, and Godalming Operatic Society, will be playing from 3pm until 5pm, at The Bandstand, in the Phillips Memorial Park, which is by the river in Godalming, Surrey.  This is a free concert.  Bring a picnic and your own garden chairs and relax and enjoy this special afternoon.  In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be held in the adjacent parish church, for more information, please click here.

Hatchlands Park, East Clandon, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7RT, are offering free entry to Fathers on Father’s Day, Sunday 17th June 2018.  Hatchlands Park are also holding a Kite Day – bring your own kite to fly in the grounds, or have a go at making a kite in their kite making workshop – this sounds like it will be a great day out!  For all the details, please click here.

Saturday 16th June 2018 – Witley Horticultural Society will be running a plant stall at Witley Village Fair, which opens at 12.30pm.  Visitors are instructed to park at Chichester Hall, Petworth Road, Witley, Godalming, Surrey, GU8 5PL, for all the details, please click here.

Saturday 16th June 2018 and Sunday 17th June 2018 –Unusual Plant Fair at Gilbert White’s House and Garden, The Wakes, Selborne, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 3JH.  This Unusual Plant Fair opens from 10.30am until 5pm.  Visitors can discover specialist nurseries from across the Southern Counties, selling rare and unusual plants, shrubs, bulbs, trees, and gardening accessories.  Refreshments and home-made cakes will be available.  For all the details, please click here.

On Saturday 16th June 2018 and Sunday 17th June 2018, the Wisley Midsummer Plant Show will be held at RHS Garden Wisley, at Woking, in Surrey.

On Saturday 16th June 2018 and Sunday 17th June 2018  Wisley Midsummer Plant Show at RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey GU23 6QB.  This Show opens from 9am until 5pm.  Visitors can meet representatives from over twenty plant societies, including the National Vegetable Society, at this very special plant show.  Learn all about growing clematis, delphiniums, carnivorous plants, sweet peas, iris, dahlias, alpines, Bonsai, cacti, hostas, ferns, fruit, herbs, vegetables, and many more interesting and beautiful plants.  You’ll find expert gardening advice at this show, including demonstrations of clematis pruning, Bonsai shaping and wiring, seed and spore sowing, and cooking your home grown produce.  Visitors can also purchase an array of beautiful plants.

Sunday 17th June 2018 – Bookham Open Gardens and Plant Sale, Bookham, Surrey, from 10am until 5pm.  There will be a good range of private gardens, including both large and small gardens across Great Bookham and Little Bookham, all opening for this special day to raise money for the upkeep of the Old Barn Hall.  You’ll find plant sales at the Old Barn Hall, Great Bookham, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT23 3QA, at the allotments.  Tickets are £5 in advance, or £6 on the day, for all the details, please click here.

Sunday 17th June 2018 – Flower Power Plant Fair at Sion Hill Hall, Kirby Wiske, Thirsk, North Yorkshire, YO7 4EU.  This plant fair opens from 11am until 4pm, for all the details, please click here.

Sunday 17th June 2018 – Rare Plant Fair at Waterperry Gardens, Waterperry, near Wheatley, Oxfordshire, OX33 1JZ.  This Rare Plant Fair will be opening from 10am until 4pm.  Visitors will find a number of independent and specialist nurseries at this plant fair.  Entry is £6 per adult, which is a reduction on the usual entry price, and includes entry to the fair and garden, for all the details, please click here.
