Mothering Sunday, also known as Mother’s Day, will be held on Sunday 31st March 2019, in the UK.  If you’re looking for a special family day out, you might be interested in discovering more about the following gardens and attractions, which are offering free entry to Mothers, or other special offers on Mother’s Day 2019.  Some of these Mother’s Day offers differ, so I’ve listed the details of each event for Mother’s Day 2019 offer separately for every venue.  I hope this information helps you to enjoy a memorable, fun, relaxing, interesting, and very special day out with your family!

Gardens to visit on Mother’s Day 2019:

Canons Ashby, near Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 3SD, are holding a Mother’s Day Posy Making Afternoon from 1pm until 3pm, on Sunday 31st March 2019.  This is a free event, normal admission prices do still apply, and there’s a suggested donation of £2 per posy.  For all the details, including accessibility and disabled access, please click here.

Winkworth Arboretum, Hascombe Road, Godalming, Surrey, GU8 4AD, are offering free entry to Mothers, when they are accompanied by their children on Mother’s Day, Sunday 31st March 2019.  For all the details, please click here.

Ness Botanic Gardens, Neston Road, Ness, Neston, South Wirral, CH64 4AY, are offering free entry for every type of Mother on Mother’s Day, Sunday 31st March 2019 – from Mothers, or Fathers who fulfil the role of Mother and Father, or siblings that care for their brothers or sisters.  Admission charges apply for other visitors to the gardens, for all the details, please click here.

On Mother’s Day, Sunday 31st March 2019, The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Middleton Hall, Llanarthne, Carmarthenshire, SA32 8HN, is offering free entry to all Mothers, the first 100 Mothers who visit the garden also receiving a small gift.  There’s a Mother’s Day Food and Craft Fair at the gardens this weekend, for all the details, please click here.

Other lovely events held over the weekend of Mother’s Day 2019:

The special events listed below will be held over the Mothering Sunday weekend, but are not, as far as I am aware, offering any special offers to mothers.

These beautiful flowers are from The Great British Florist, the fragrance of the Narcissi and Freesias in this arrangement is divine, these flowers have filled the room with their beautiful scent. This lovely arrangement, photographed in January 2017, features Ranunculus, Freesias, Narcissi, Gypsophila, Nigella seed heads, Anemones, Tulips, and Eucalyptus. All of these flowers were grown in Great Britain.

Saturday 30th March 2019 and Sunday 31st March 2019 – Bournemouth Orchid Society Show and Plant Sale at Highcliffe Castle, Rothesay Drive, Highcliffe, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 4LE, open from 10.30am to 4pm. At this show, visitors can see a range of orchids and learn about these varied and interesting plants.  Visitors can also purchase orchids from trade orchid nurseries, get questions answered in a plant clinic, and learn about how to growing orchids from potting demonstrations.  For all the details, please click here.

Saturday 30th March 2019 – Cyclamen Society Spring Show will be held from 10am until 4pm, at RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey, GU23 6QB.  Visitors can see Cyclamen Competition classes, which feature rare and interesting cyclamen plants, there will also be displays of spring-flowering cyclamen species.  Unusual Cyclamen cultivars and companion plants will be offered for sale.  Cyclamen experts will be on hand to give advice and answer any of your Cyclamen related questions.

Saturday 30th March 2019 – Plant Hunters Fair at Patchings Art Centre, Oxton Road, Calverton, Nottingham, NG14 6NU.  This Plant Fair opens from 10am until 4pm.  For all the details, please click here.

Saturday 30th March 2019 – Hardy Plant Society East Yorkshire Group Annual Lecture and Study Day at Bishop Burton College, York Road, Bishop Burton, East Yorkshire, HU17 8QG, from 9am until 4.30pm.  This event includes talks and lectures alongside plant sales. Sunday 31st March 2019 – The World of Alpines Show will be held from 10am until 4pm, at RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey, GU23 6QB.  Enjoy pretty displays of alpine plants and spring flowering bulbs at this lovely show!  If you’re looking to grow alpine plants, you’ll find expert advice at this event at RHS Garden Wisley, where you can also purchase many unusual alpine plants and bulbs.

Sunday 31st March 2019 – Middleton Hall Plant Hunters’ Fair, Middleton, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B78 2AE.  This plant fair opens from 10am until 4pm, entry to the fair gardens and hall is £3, with free entry for children and free parking, for all the details, please click here.
