2024 Specialist Plant Fairs, Festivals, Plant Sales, Plant & Seed Swaps

2024 Calendar of Specialist Plant Fairs, Festivals, Plant Sales, & Plant & Seed Swaps

Here’s my calendar with the dates and details of plant sales, festivals, and other super opportunities to buy wonderful, locally grown plants!  Great quality, rare, hard to find, unusual, choice plants and old favourites can all be found at the specialist plant fairs, plant sales, plant and seed swaps, and other events that I have listed for you below.

This 2024 calendar includes large-scale plant fairs as well as much smaller, local events, and everything in between!  A large number of the events listed below benefit plant societies, local organisations, and charities, and have been arranged by volunteers.  Many of the small organisations that run these events are dependent on others growing and delivering plants on the day – nothing is guaranteed!  If you have any plants or seeds to donate, I am sure the charitable organisations listed below would be most grateful for your support.

NB: Tickets to some events need to be booked in advance.

NB: When you’re considering buying a plant, before you buy anything please ask if the plant has been grown in peat-free compost.  If the answer is no – if the plant has been grown in a peat compost, please ask the seller to protect our peatlands and switch to using peat-free compost.

Here’s my 2022 Calendar of Specialist Plant Fairs, Festivals, Plant Sales & Plant Swaps!

How to Use this Calendar

This calendar is dynamic and will update as I add new events.  Please don’t waste paper or resources printing this calendar and remember to check back for new events as I add them!

The events are grouped by geographical area, so you can use the filter hierarchy below to select events near you.  For example, click ‘Surrey‘ to limit the page to only display events in the county of Surrey, or alternatively, click ‘South East‘ if you would prefer to see events held in a wider area of this part of the country.

To search for events by month – just click on your preferred month below.  NB. This calendar is displayed over multiple pages, so it’s highly likely that you will need to skip to the next page/s to see events held in later months.  The quickest way to get to the next page is to click on ‘long running events‘ and use the links to the next pages directly above.  When you click on an area you’ll narrow the search down and more relevant events will show.

Please note: to make it easier for you to find events, I have created a page divider, which you’ll find right at the very top of this page.  Click on the red text for the particular month or area you wish to see events for.

NB: I have added thousands of events to this calendar; to see later events you will need to scroll to the bottom of the calendar (above the Long Running Events section) and click on the next pages to see events further ahead.

NB: Click on ‘Long Running Events‘ to see events lasting seven days or more.

When you’ve finished looking through the calendar, you’ll find an upwards facing arrow on the right hand side of the page.  Clicking on this arrow will deliver you safely back up to the top of the page, saving you time scrolling!

NB: Please don’t print this calendar out – I update this calendar regularly.  I will be adding more dates and events in the coming weeks and months!

If I have missed your event where plants, seeds, bulbs, corms, tubers, or rhizomes, will be sold, swapped, or given, contact me with the full details, and I will add your event to my calendar.

So, without further ado, here are the dates and details for your diaries….

Throughout February the famous cottage garden at East Lambrook Manor in Somerset will be celebrating the snowdrop season once again with its annual, and possibly last, Festival of Snowdrops. Stroll through the beautiful winter garden and enjoy the wonderful collection of unusual snowdrops. Cottage garden doyenne and avid ‘galanthophile’ Margery Fish and her husband Walter turned the drainage channel between two orchards into the perfect place for planting her growing collection of snowdrops in the 1940’s and the bulbs have thrived there ever since. “It gladdens the heart to see the snowdrops lining the banks of the famous Ditch in this gem of a garden,” says owner Mike Werkmeister. The garden has a collection of around 140 named varieties and many of these are used to make a special display in a raised bed enabling visitors to appreciate the subtle and often not so subtle difference between them. Visitors can join a snowdrop tour to learn about the genus and see some of the more unusual snowdrops in the garden. Around 80 varieties will be on sale in the nursery along with hellebores and other spring bulbs and plants. Sculptor Chris Kampf will again be exhibiting his popular steel snowdrops.  NB: All of the snowdrops in East Lambrook Manor Gardens are grown in peat-free compost and all the snowdrops sold in East Lambrook Manor Gardens' nursery are raised in peat-free compost. We operate our annual Plant and Craft Fair on 23rd April 2023 and wondered if it could be included on your listing.
We operate a 3 acre garden that is open every day. In addition to our own plant stall we will have a selection of local growers and crafts people on display. Entry to the fair is free.

      Hello Stephen,

Thank you for your message. I have added your plant fair to my calendar and I am very happy to add all your future events to my listings. May I ask, are the plants you sell raised in peat-free compost? Thank you.

      Best wishes
      Beth
