The organisers of Shepton Snowdrop Festival are always looking for volunteers to help with planting snowdrop bulbs during September and October, rain or shine! They plant thousands of bulbs on roadside verges, and public spaces around the town to create a show of snowdrops for everyone to enjoy each February. The planting dates for Autumn 2025 are as follows: Friday 19th September 2025 from 9.30am until 1pm, Saturday 20th September 2025 from 9.30am until 1pm, Friday 26th September 2025 from 9.30am until 1pm, Saturday 27th September 2025 from 10am until 1pm. Back up dates, in case of bad weather: Friday 3rd Oct 9.30- 1pm, Saturday 4th Oct 9.30- 1pm. There are often homemade cakes to keep the volunteers going! Shepton Snowdrop Festival volunteers will also be selling bulbs from 10am till 4pm on Saturday 20th and Saturday 27th September 2025 at Tesco Store, Townsend, Shepton Mallet.
