Date: Sunday 24 May 2026
On Sunday 24th May 2026 and Monday 25th May 2026, gardens in Steppingley Village will be opening from 1pm until 5pm for the NGS at Steppingley Village Gardens, Steppingley, Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK45 5AT. Directions: Follow signs to Steppingley, pick up yellow signs from village centre. Steppingley is a picturesque Bedfordshire village on the Greensand Ridge, close to Ampthill, Flitwick and Woburn. Most of Steppingley was built by the 7th Duke of Bedford between 1840 and 1872. Five open gardens in the village offer an interesting mix of planting styles and design. Visitors can admire cottage garden style early perennials, roses, and peonies in May. There are pretty courtyards, three large wildlife ponds and several small ponds, a Victorian well, a shell grotto, glasshouses, a succulent collection, vegetable gardens and country views. The gardens are also home to chickens, ducks, moorhens, fish and much more, depending on the time of year. There will be a plant stall at this event.
