On Saturday 15th August 2026, the Orchid Society of Great Britain are hosting a Zoom meeting from 2.15pm until 4.30pm. This talk is about the trip taken by David and Gill Mathers to Ecuador in autumn 2025 as part of a conservation tour of the country before a presentation at the Scientific Conference on Andean Orchids. The tour was led by one of Ecuagenera’s top botanists, Hugo Medina, and the talk will offer insights into the different climatic zones in Ecuador and the orchids that grow there, as well as how these learnings are informing better orchid growing at The Mathers Foundation in Sussex.
