On Sunday 22nd February 2026, Grove Lodge will be opening from 2pm until 5pm for the NGS. Grove Lodge, 3 Chater’s Hill, Saffron Walden, Essex, CB10 2AB. Grove Lodge is a large walled garden, close to the town centre, with unusually high biodiversity (17 species of butterfly recorded), near the the turf maze and Norman castle. This semi-woodland garden with light, free-draining chalk soil allows bulbs, hellebores and winter-flowering shrubs to thrive.
