Avon Wildlife Trust Online Talk: Coastal Plants of Somerset with Dr Helena Crouch

Date: Friday 8 April 2022

Friday 8th April 2022 from 7.30pm until 9pm BST.

Join Avon Wildlife Trust for this illustrated online talk with Dr Helena Crouch, Vice-County Recorder in North Somerset for the Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland.  Helena Crouch has been studying and recording coastal plants here for over 20 years, including a survey for Natural England of the rare plants along the coast between the Rivers Parrett and Avon.  In this talk, Helena will take us on an exploration of the different coastal habitats, including rocky shores, saltmarshes and sand dunes, looking at the common and rarer plants we might expect to find in each, and explaining their adaptations to their challenging environments.  A suggested minimum donation of £3 per person watching would be appreciated. All profits help Avon Wildlife Trust with their work locally.  The talk will be recorded and the recording made available to participants afterwards.  For all the details and to book your place, please click here.
