Wildlife Trusts Online Talk: The Carneddau Landscape Partnership – Celebrating an Ancient Landscape

Date: Thursday 24 February 2022

Thursday 24th February 2022 from 7.30pm until 9am GMT.

Beca Roberts, Community Engagement Officer for the Carneddau Landscape Partnership, will present an introduction to the scheme which seeks to engage communities in discovering, caring for and celebrating the Carneddau, an ancient landscape in the northern-most part of Snowdonia National Park.

Through increasing understanding and enjoyment of the Carneddau’s history, cultural traditions and wildlife the partnership aims to promote a positive future for the Carneddau through the protection of its heritage, stories, rare habitats, species and archaeological remains. Jack Slattery (RSPB Conservation Officer for North East Wales) will be joining us to give an in-depth look at choughs and how this scheme is providing support for their monitoring and conservation in the landscape.

Beca comes from Bethesda and has strong ties with the Carneddau Landscape. Previously she worked with Ynni Ogwen and Partneriaeth Ogwen, developing sustainability-focused community projects. Jack has recently returned to the area having developed a strong affinity with the mountains and coastlines whilst studying Zoology at Bangor University. He is now working closely with a number of partners to secure a long-term future for chough and twite.  For all the details and to book your place, please click here.
