A Soil Deal for Europe: 100 Living labs and lighthouses to lead the transition towards healthy soils by 2030

  • Reduce land degradation relating to desertification
  • Conserve and increase soil organic carbon stocks
  • No net soil sealing and increase the reuse of urban soils
  • Reduce soil pollution and enhance restoration
  • Prevent erosion
  • Improve soil structure to enhance habitat quality for soil biota and crops
  • Reduce the EU global footprint on soils
  • Increase soil literacy in society across Member States

In this discussion we ask you to reflect from your own expertise, experience and region on the most important R&I gaps you see for reducing the EU global footprint on soils and help us to specify and add to them. The results will be used in the R&I Roadmap for the Soil Mission objectives, to further implement the Soil Mission.
