Date: Saturday 10 September 2022

On Saturday 10th September 2022, Inham Nook Allotment will be opening from 1pm until 5pm at Inham Nook Allotment, Slade Road, Chilwell, Beeston, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG9 4GS.  Visitors can take a tour to see a working allotment with wildflower meadow, communal polytunnel, beehives, scarecrows, an orchard, a pond, woodland trail, and memorial garden.  Tea will be served in the wildflower meadow where there will also be children’s activities.  Inham Nook Allotment is situated in the middle of a large housing estate where it provides a haven for wildlife.  The 80 or so plots are gardened by people from many countries around the world including: Spain, Sicily, Nigeria, Kenya, the Czech Republic, Germany, Russia, France and the UK. This diversity can be seen in the many different planting styles.  The gardeners strive, not only to feed themselves but, to make it a beautiful place where plants and wildlife thrive.  The orchard features two descendants of the famous Bess Pool apple trees, named after a little girl who first found them, in a local wood, a few hundred years ago.  Tea will be served from the hut.  Directions: off PEARSON Avenue, near the Chetwynd House Nursing Home.  For more information, please click here.
