Castle Kennedy Snowdrop Trail Guided Walk

Date: Sunday 12 February 2023

Castle Kennedy, Stranraer, Scotland, DG9 8SJ. Castle Kennedy Gardens will be opening from 10am until 5pm for a Guided Snowdrop Walk for Scotland’s Snowdrop Festival. Join Castle Kennedy’s retired Head Garden of 30+ years, John McArthur, as he takes you on a wonderful tour of the Snowdrops Galanthus drifts in the Gardens. Spread across the garden and wider woodland areas, the snowdrops are surprisingly varied in their height and size. Follow the signposted trail after your guided walk to further explore the glorious hints of Spring. Once you have completed both the trail and the guided walk, head to the Tea Room for some refreshing and warming home-baked goodies. Castle Kennedy will treat you to a warming hot drink. Visitors can admire the snowdrops by the 16th-century Castle Kennedy ruins; specialist varieties are waiting to be discovered inside the Walled Garden. Special access around the Black Loch at this time of year means visitors can witness a wonderful part of the Garden which is usually closed to visitors. For more information, please click here.
