On Wednesday 3rd April 2024, Beechenwood Farm Garden will be opening from 2pm until 5pm for the NGS. Beechenwood Farm, Hillside, Odiham, Hook, Hampshire, RG29 1JA. Directions: 5m SE of Hook.Turn S into King St from Odiham High Street, Turn left after cricket ground for Hillside. Take 2nd right after 1½m, modern house ½m. This garden extends to 1.8 acres and features a woodland garden, cultivated lawns, terrace, walled herb garden, orchard and vegetable garden. The woodland garden is planted with spring bulbs and evolves through the summer with cowslips, tulips, bluebells, fritillaries, cow parsley and long grass. The lawns, rose garden and terrace are squeezed between the house and the west boundary of the site to take advantage of midday and afternoon sun. A rose and clematis planted pergola defines the border with woodland garden. Visitors can enjoy extensive views to the north-west over Odiham as far as the Thames Valley. On the other side of the lane is a small field where plants are grown in a polytunnel for sale at Country Markets and when the garden is open to the public for the NGS.
