Armathwaite Open Gardens

Armathwaite Open Gardens is from 12 noon until 5pm on Saturday 29th June 2024 and Sunday 30th June 2024, when approximately 14 private gardens will open in Armathwaite, near Carlisle, Cumbria, CA4 9PF. Armathwaite has two pubs, village shop including a post office, and delightful river side walks. Why not travel by train on the Settle to Carlisle Railway and spend the day in the Eden Valley? Children are welcome; there’s a free Garden Trail for them to follow. Tea and cakes will be served in the Village Hall. All proceeds from the event will be divided equally between Christ and St Mary’s Church and the Village Hall. Plants for sale at various gardens. Tickets £5 each day. Buy your ticket at the tent in the centre of the village. Directions / Parking: Armathwaite is equidistant from Carlisle and Penrith. From J42 on the M6 take the A6 south for approx 7 miles and turn left off the dual carriageway just past the vilage of High Hesket. Proceed along this road to a T junction where you should turn right. Upon entering Armathwaite continue for 1/4 mile and programmes can be purchased from a tent in the middle of the village.
