London Open Gardens: The Hoxton Trust

The Hoxton Trust will be opening their garden from for the London Open Gardens on Saturday 8th June 2024 and Sunday 9th June 2024 at Tyssen Street, London, Nearest postcode: N1 6SH. Refreshments will be available: tea, coffee, organic cold drinks, cake and biscuits. There will be a tour of the garden on Saturday 8th June with Stephen Mason. Cyanotype workshop sessions will run throughout the weekend. There will be a plant sale and a ceramics/clay-making drop-in workshop run by Troy Town ceramics. This will coincide with their summer ceramics sale. A yoga/meditation session will take place in the garden on Sunday. Picnics allowed. The garden is host to a variety of flora, fauna and wildlife, including 37 species of tree and 161 species of plants. The team runs an organic food growing programme to improve health and wellbeing, composts all organic waste and supports community composting. The original clock tower from the Eastern Fever Hospital (now Homerton Hospital), designed by Giles and Biven, is also located in the garden. The yard opposite has three greenhouses, a potting shed, a variety of potted plants and a giant 40-year-old American Blue Agave. Troy Town ceramics studio is also located in the yard.
