Daffodils are full of spring cheer!  I want to brighten up your spring and so I’ve created this calendar of daffodil events.  If you’ve got a daffodil talk, daffodil walk or daffodil garden opening, do let me know and I’ll add your event to this calendar.

 Saturday 4 January 2025: Chiswick Flower Market

 Saturday 18 January 2025 - Friday 31 January 2025: Seaton Delaval Hall


Seaton Delaval Hall, The Avenue, Seaton Sluice, Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, North East England, NE26 4QR. By February, there will be smattering of snowdrops in the grounds. The daffodils at Seaton Delaval Hall are thought to have been planted when the Hall was first built. Speke Hall, The Walk, Speke, Liverpool, North West England, L24 1XD. Take a stroll around the Speke Hall's South Lawn, in January, you can see thousands of snowdrops here, followed by crocuses. In springtime, visitors can admire a long-lasting display of thousands of daffodils along the main drive and in other parts of the gardens.  Speke Hall opens daily from 10.30am until 4pm. Gibside, Near Rowlands Gill, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, North East England, NE16 6BG. Visitors to Gibside can admire carpets of snowdrops in winter by the ice house area.  Spring visitors can enjoy the sight of thousands of daffodils in April, including a variety called Narcissus 'Telemonius Plenus', which dates back the 17th Century. Shugborough. Milford, Great Haywood, Stafford, Staffordshire, West Midlands, ST17 0UP. Visitors can admire snowdrops in the parkland and daffodils along the riverside in the gardens. Shugborough is open daily from 9am until 4pm.  Signposted from M6 exit 13; 6 miles east of Stafford on A513; entrance at Milford. Entry via Milford Gates only to enable vehicle one way system.  Monday 20 January 2025 - Friday 31 January 2025: Saltram

 Sunday 2 February 2025: Chiswick Flower Market

 Saturday 15 February 2025 - Friday 28 February 2025: Borde Hill Garden


Borde Hill Garden, Borde Hill Lane, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH16 1XP. At Borde Hill Garden, visitors can admire camellias, snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils, and early-flowering rhododendrons. Look out for the warm colourful hues of witch hazel (Hamamelis) and admire the many varieties of hellebores flowering in the Garden of Allah and behind the Italian Garden.  As well as the garden, there are 200 acres of woodland and parkland at Borde Hill, where visitors can admire champion trees - trees of a great age or size.  Visitors can discover many rare trees and a wide range of shrubs, bulbs, and perennials, growing in the gardens at Borde Hill.  Border Hill Garden opens daily from 10am until 5pm.  For more information, please click here.  Sunday 1 December 2024 - Tuesday 31 December 2024: Winkworth Arboretum


Winkworth Arboretum, Hascombe Road, Godalming, Surrey, GU8 4AD.  National Trust.  Open daily from 10am until 4pm.  Winkworth Arboretum has some wonderful daffodil displays.  With over 30,000 early flowering daffodils at Winkworth, flowering from mid-December onwards, it’s a great place to visit!  Don’t forget to plan further visits to see the carpets of bluebells at Winkworth in April and May. Newark Park, Ozleworth, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, GL12 7PZ.  Snowdrop season starts typically at the end of winter, where Newark will have carpets of snowdrops around the garden.  The appearance of daffodils is often the first sign of spring; discover daffodils blooming around the garden.  Brush away the cobwebs and take a refreshing walk down to the lakeside garden, where you can see banks of daffodils.  Newark opens from 10am until 4pm.  For all the details, please click here.

 Saturday 1 February 2025 - Monday 31 March 2025: Gelli Uchaf Opening by Prior Arrangement


During February and March, Gelli Uchaf Garden will be opening by prior arrangement for the NGS.  Gelli Uchaf, Rhydcymerau, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, SA19 7PY.  This 1½ acre garden features trees and shrubs underplanted with hundreds of thousands of snowdrops, crocus, cyclamen, and daffodils.  For all the details, please click here.

Chippenham Park Gardens, Chippenham Hall, Chippenham Park, Newmarket, CB7 5PT.  Chippenham Park Gardens are open daily from 10am until 4pm.  Chippenham Park's house, gardens, and park were created at the very end of the 17th century by Admiral Lord Russell with permission from William II.  The gardens have been awarded the highest two-star rating by the Good Gardens Guide and are notable for their vast swathes of snowdrops and aconites in late winter, followed by a superb spring show of daffodils, hellebores, spring bulbs and blossoms.  For more information, please click here.

Thorp Perrow Arboretum, Bedale, North Yorkshire, DL8 2PS. Thorp Perrow are open 7 days a week from 10am to around 4pm (daylight and weather-depending). Thorp Perrow Arboretum covers 100 acres and is currently home to 5 National Plant Collections and 51 Champion Trees. Witness one of the finest and most extensive collections of naturalised daffodils in the North of England, including some old and unusual daffodil varieties.  Saturday 1 March 2025 - Monday 31 March 2025: Barnsdale Gardens


Barnsdale Gardens open daily from 9am until 5pm during March at Barnsdale Gardens, The Avenue, Exton, Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands, LE15 8AH. There is lots of colour and interest at Barnsdale at this time of year, with brightly coloured bark and berries, drifts of Hellebores, and the Geoff Hamilton Winter Border which features over 9000 Snowdrops.  Saturday 1 March 2025 - Monday 31 March 2025: Gargunnock House Garden Opening by Prior Arrangement


Gargunnock House Garden will be opening by prior arrangement for Scotland's Garden Scheme. Gargunnock House, Gargunnock, Stirling, Scotland, FK8 3AZ. Gargunnock House Garden has a walled garden, woodland walks with wonderful specimen trees. Visitors can enjoy the garden's snowdrops, which are followed by daffodils. The Walled Garden is now used by the charity Green Routes to give gardening education to adults with learning difficulties. Directions: Five miles west of Stirling on the A811.  Saturday 1 March 2025 - Monday 31 March 2025: Braco Castle Garden Opening


Braco Castle, Braco, Fife, Scotland, FK15 9LA, will be opening daily from 10am until 5pm, for the Scottish Snowdrop Festival.  This 19th century landscape garden boasts a marvellous collection of trees, shrubs, bulbs, and other plants.  Visitors can enjoy the garden’s spectacular collection of snowdrops and other spring flowering bulbs and take in the views to the Ochils.  More details, including information for disabled visitors, can be found here.

Cotehele, St Dominick, near Saltash, Cornwall, PL12 6TA.  Cotehele opens daily from 10am until 5pm.  Visit the Upper Garden to see Cotehele's snowdrops and spring flowering bulbs.  For all the details, please click here.

 Saturday 1 March 2025 - Monday 31 March 2025: Howick Hall Gardens


Howick Hall Gardens, Alnwick, Northumberland, NE66 3LB.  Howick Hall Gardens are open daily from 10.30am until 4pm. The majority of the snowdrops at Howick Hall were  planted between the Wars by Lady Grey, who was a great bulb enthusiast; over time a number of natural hybrids have evolved and multiplied.  Snowdrops are planted in large drifts throughout the garden and make a fine display.  Lady Grey also planted the daffodils that follow the snowdrops with their cheerful blooms. The Sculpture Park, Jumps Road, Churt, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 2LH. The Sculpture Park is set in 10 acres of grounds; visitors can explore woodland, lakes, ponds and meadows.  40,000 daffodils have been planted in the park; there are displays of bluebells, hyacinths, and wild flowers, as well as 600 sculptures and installations.  Saturday 1 March 2025 - Monday 31 March 2025: Antony Woodland Garden & Woodland Walk


Antony Woodland Garden & Woodland Walk are open from 10.30am until 5pm (last entry to the garden, one hour before closing). NB: this garden is closed on Mondays and Fridays (except Bank Holidays) at Antony Woodland Garden & Woodland Walk, Ferry Lane, Torpoint, Cornwall, PL11 3AB. This 100-acre Antony Woodland Garden is described as one of the most beautiful, but least known about gardens in Cornwall. A haven of serenity and peace with a magnificent variety of plants and beautiful walks along the river's edge. Antony Woodland Garden is adorned with daffodils in spring. In springtime, the extensive glades and walks of the garden are covered with drifts of wild flowers; celandines, primroses, bluebells, campion, and garlic.

 Saturday 1 March 2025 - Monday 31 March 2025: Durham Botanic Garden


Open daily from 10am until 5pm, Durham Botanic Garden benefit from a bank of snowdrops in the winter garden and in March visitors can also enjoy swathes of daffodils.
