Aerangis punctata

Family: Orchidaceae

Countries: Africa, Madagascar, Reunion Island

Aerangis punctata is an epiphytic orchid species, which can be found growing in central highland Madagascar, and also on the island nation of Reunion, at elevations between 900m and 1500m.

Aerangis punctata grows in humid, evergreen forests, and in highland forests and scrubland, where this plant can be found growing upon both shrubs and trees.  In its native environment, Aerangis punctata flowers from December through until March.  Aerangis punctata flowers are very large in size and white in colour, they’re usually tinged with brown and are huge when viewed in comparison to the size of the plant.
