Family: Orchidaceae
Angraecum pyriforme is an epiphytic miniature orchid species that originates from mainland Africa, where this miniature orchid can be found growing upon trees in areas of moist, humid forest. The number of locations where plants of Angraecum pyriforme can be found growing includes the Ivory Coast and Nigeria, although this orchid’s range is decreasing year on year, as areas of forest are cleared to create space for farming, agriculture, and to create small holdings. Consequently, Angraecum pyriforme is becoming more scarce.
Angraecum pyriforme produces multiple, medium sized, waxy looking, greenish yellow flowers, which have a light, meadow-like fragrance.
