Chiloschista parishii

Family: Orchidaceae

Countries: Asia, Himalayas, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam

Chiloschista parishii is a species of miniature, epiphytic, leafless orchid, which originates from Thailand, India, Vietnam, Myanmar, and the Himalayas, where it can be found growing on trees in forests and woodlands.

Chiloschista parishii flourishes when grown under bright, filtered light, in a warm environment, in a very humid environment, where the plant will receive regular misting during the growing season.

Although this particular Chiloschista is classed as a leafless orchid, young Chiloschista parishii plants may produce leaves.  The leaves are usually shed as the Chiloschista plants mature, and of the plants that keep their leaves, these plants are deciduous, most of the leaves fall before the flowers are produced in spring.

Chiloschista parishii produces pendant flower spikes with up to 20, fragrant flowers.
