Paphiopedilum concolor is a small to medium sized, terrestrial orchid species, which originates from: Myanmar, Vietnam, and China, among other places.  In its native environment, Paphiopedilum concolor can be found growing close to streams and water sources in forests, where this orchid grows directly in the ground, in leaf litter, or on rocks.

Paphiopedilum concolor grows as a terrestrial or lithophytic orchid; plants grow very successfully upon limestone rocks.  This orchid can be growing in areas that enjoy warm temperatures, Paphiopedilum concolor thrives in locations where the plant receives filtered, diffused light.

Paphiopedilum concolor is too big for some terrariums, if you’re considering growing this orchid, ensure that you have sufficient height and width inside your enclosure to be able to accommodate your plant.

You can see my Paphiopedilum concolor specimen as the plant grows, develops, and flowers over an eleven month period, from April 2018 to March 2019, in this update.
