Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’

Family: Hydrangeaceae

For me, the best thing about Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’ is the flowers’ beautifully sweet scent, which encompasses the June garden.  I simply adore this shrub in June – while the plants are in flower.  Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’ produces very pretty white flowers, they really are lovely.  These open, shallow cup shaped flowers are a magnet for bees and other pollinating insects.

Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’ is an easy to grow, deciduous shrub.  Plants grow to a height of 1.5m (5ft), spreading 1.5-2.5m (5-8ft) wide.  This is a great container plant.  Plant Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile in moist, well-drained soil or peat free compost, in a position where your plants can enjoy the sunshine and you can enjoy your plant’s flowers and their intoxicating scent.
