Phlebodium aureum ‘Blue Star’

Family: Polypodiaceae

Countries: South America

Phlebodium aureum ‘Blue Star’ is also known by its common name of the Blue Star Fern.  Phlebodium aureum ‘Blue Star’ is a great terrarium fern!  Phlebodium aureum ‘Blue Star’ thrives in evenly moist compost, in very humid growing conditions.  This fern will flourish in an area that enjoys low level light to bright but indirect light.

If you have a frosted window in a frequently used bathroom, where Phlebodim aureum ‘Blue Star’ will not be exposed to harsh, bright, direct light or cold draughts, and this fern will receive the humidity it requires, then you will find that this fern will grow well for you as a houseplant.  Ensure that your room temperature doesn’t ever fall below 15C (59F) and take care to ensure that your plant is away from cold draughts and widely fluctuating temperatures.
