Rosa ‘Gabriel Oak’ (Auscrowd) is an English Shrub Rose, which was bred by David Austin Roses, and introduced for the first time, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019.
David Austin Roses named this handsome rose after Gabriel Oak, the much loved character, from Thomas Hardy’s 1874 novel, Far From the Madding Crowd.
This English Rose produces large, vivid fuchsia-pink coloured blooms, each comprised of many petals, which gives the flowers a sumptuous and rather glamorous quality.
‘Gabriel Oak’ forms a medium sized, rounded shrub, that grows to around 125cm (4ft) tall, and about the same wide (depending on your soil type and the growing conditions). Plant this rose in full sunshine or partial shade, in well drained, but moisture retentive soil.
