Rosa ‘A Shropshire Lad’ (Ausled) is an English Leander Hybrid Climbing Rose. This is one of the many beautiful English Roses, which was bred by David Austin, at David Austin Roses. Rosa ‘A Shropshire Lad’ was introduced by David Austin Roses, in 1996, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
‘A Shropshire Lad’ is an English Climbing Rose that grows to about 3m (10ft) tall, making it an ideal choice of rose to plant to cover an arch or obelisk, or to grow over a pergola or around a doorway. This rose requires a sunny spot, in an East, West, or South facing direction – avoid shaded, North facing walls.
Rosa ‘A Shropshire Lad’ is an almost thornless climbing rose, which produces delightful, warm apricot-pink coloured, fragrant flowers from late May, until the really cold weather arrives in late autumn or early winter.
Rosa ‘A Shropshire Lad’ was introduced by David Austin Roses, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 1996.
