Rosa ‘Tottering-by-Gently’

Rosa ‘Tottering-by-Gently’ (Auscartoon) was bred by David Austin Roses and christened to mark the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the weekly cartoon created by Annie Tempest.  The Tottering-by-Gently cartoon was first published in Country Life magazine in January 1994.  Rosa ‘Tottering-by-Gently’ was introduced at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018.

Rosa ‘Tottering-by-Gently’ produces open, single flowers, with pollen and nectar that are available and accessible to bees, hoverflies, butterflies, and other pollinating insects.

Rosa ‘Tottering-by-Gently’ produces flowers of a soft, lemon yellow colour, which lighten in colour and tone as the flowers age.  Rosa ‘Tottering-by-Gently’ forms quite a large shrub; this rose’s growth is shapely and rounded.

Rosa ‘Tottering-by-Gently’ grows to 1.4m (4 ½ ft) tall and 1.4m (4 ½ ft) wide.  You can see more photographs of this rose and the other new introductions from David Austin Roses for 2018-2019 here.
