Rosa ‘Tranquility’

Family: Rosaceae

Rosa ‘Tranquility’ (Ausnoble) is an English Shrub Rose, which was bred by David Austin and introduced in 2012, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

This is another beautiful rose that was bred by David Austin.  I always admire the appearance of this rose, but I am disappointed by this rose’s flowers, as they have only a very light fragrance.  In addition to the lack of scent, Rosa ‘Tranquility’ flowers don’t provide any pollen or nectar for bees, butterflies, hoverflies, or other pollinating insects.  Consequently, this is not a rose I choose to grow, as I have a particular fondness for beautifully perfumed roses and plants for insects and wildlife.

Rosa ‘Tranquility’ grows to a height of around 1.2m (4ft).  Plant this rose in any moist, but well-drained soil, in a position where your rose will enjoy uninterrupted sunshine.
