Selaginella kraussiana ‘Brownii’ is an attractive tender, evergreen perennial that forms low, tufted, leafy-green coloured hummocks. This plant is both interesting and endearing, it’s a great choice of plant for a terrarium or bottle garden. Selaginella kraussiana ‘Brownii’ can really enhance a miniature landscape and will help to create an interesting terrarium planting scheme, which holds a fascinating contained world inside.
Plant Selaginella kraussiana ‘Brownii’ in moist, but well-drained, evenly moist soil or peat-free compost. Avoid overwatering your terrarium plants and allow the compost to dry out a little before you water your plants again. Selaginella kraussiana ‘Brownii’ flourishes in partially shaded or fully shaded conditions, away from harsh or direct sunlight.
Selaginella kraussiana ‘Brownii’ is a tender plant that’s unlikely to survive temperatures lower than 13C (55F). Selaginella kraussiana ‘Brownii’ grows to 5cm (2 inches) tall and spreads about 20cm (8 inches) wide. This endearing plant forms attractive spreading mounds as it grows.
