Tomato ‘Nagina’

Family: Solanaceae

Tomato ‘Nagina’ is a Roma or plum tomato variety – this tomato is also sold as ‘Crimson Plum’.  Whether you grow tomato seed purchased as ‘Nagina’ or tomato seed purchased as ‘Crimson Plum’ you’ll be growing the same very productive tomato.  ‘Nagina’ produces an abundance of large, red plum tomatoes, which are ideal for cooking.  This variety can be grown successfully outdoors, once all risk of frost has passed; ‘Nagina’ also grows well in a glasshouse or polytunnel.

An indeterminate (cordon) tomato hybrid, ‘Nagina’ was bred by Simon Crawford, from Burpee Seeds.  This tomato hybrid’s identifying number was 15029.  If you’re interested in growing tomatoes, you’ll find more detailed articles about growing tomatoes (including my Tomato Trials), here.
