Tomato ‘Oh Happy Day’

Family: Solanaceae

Tomato ‘Oh Happy Day’ is a new tomato variety, it was launched on the Pennard Plants stand, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018.  ‘Oh Happy Day’ plants produce large, round, red salad tomatoes, which are ideal for slicing in sandwiches or salads, but these tomatoes also work well for cooking.

Tomato ‘Oh Happy Day’ is an indeterminate tomato hybrid.  ‘Oh Happy Day’ tomato plants can be grown in a glasshouse, or planted outdoors in the summertime, in the UK.  Plants are best started in a glasshouse, or on a bright window sill and then planted out when all risk of frost has passed, which is usually the end of May or the beginning of June, in the UK.

Tomato ‘Oh Happy Day’ was bred by Simon Crawford, from Burpee Seeds.  If you’re interested in growing tomatoes, you’ll find more detailed articles about growing tomatoes (including my Tomato Trials), here.
