Tomato ‘Summer Frolic’

Family: Solanaceae

Tomato ‘Summer Frolic’ is a salad tomato variety.  ‘Summer Frolic’ tomato plants produce large, round, red tomatoes.  The harvested tomatoes are very versatile, they can be used as a slicing tomato in sandwiches or salads, or the tomatoes can be used in cooking.

‘Summer Frolic’ tomatoes can be grown in containers or planted directly in the ground.  This tomato variety grows well both undercover, in glasshouses or polytunnels, or ‘Summer Frolic’ can also be grown successfully outdoors.  Plant out your tomato plants once all risk of frost has passed, which is usually from the beginning of June onwards, in the UK.

Tomato ‘Summer Frolic’ is an indeterminate or cordon tomato hybrid.

Tomato ‘Summer Frolic’ was bred by Dr Paul Thomas, from Burpee Seeds.  If you’re interested in growing tomatoes, you’ll find more detailed articles about growing tomatoes (including my Tomato Trials), here.
