Orchidarium Update (part two)

In March 2017, I created an Orchidarium, complete with an automated misting unit, LED lights, and fans, to house some of my miniature orchids and provide them with automatic care.  In this update you can see how these automated features have performed over the past year, you can also discover how the plants inside this Orchidarium have grown and developed.  I am just so excited to be able to show you the deliciously scented flowers of Phalaenopsis honghenensis

RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2016

The Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, supported by Viking Cruises, is the world’s largest annual flower show!  The Show covers 34 acres of ground, occupying both sides of the Long Water, in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace.

The Floral Marquee is 6,750 square metres in size – big enough to house an FA football pitch!  Here you’ll find an array of award-winning specialist nurseries, selling a diverse range of interesting and exciting plants.

Every year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, you’ll find a wealth of plant knowledge and expertise inside the Great Pavilion, where specialist nurseries, expert growers, and plants people, come together from all over the world, to showcase some of the special plants they grow and love.

Carnivorous Plants

This is Sarracenia x mitchelliana x Sarracenia x swaniana. A Venus Fly Trap, also known by its botanical name of Dionaea muscipula.

There’s something quite thrilling about carnivorous plants.

Gold Medal Nurseries At Hampton Court Flower Show

Here are some of the Gold Medal winning nurseries from The Royal Horticultural Society’s 2015 Hampton Court Palace Flower Show……….

This is the Gold Medal winning display of Pelargoniums from Fibrex Nurseries Ltd at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2015. Established by Hazel and Dick Key some 46 years ago, Fibrex Nurseries are a family run nursery, they hold National Collections of Hedera and Pelargonium.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2015

The Great Pavilion at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show extends to an area equal in size to three football pitches; during Chelsea week it’s filled with a glorious array of interesting, new, rare and beautiful plants and stunning floral exhibits created by top plant breeders, growers and nurseries.  Here are some of the Gold Medal winning nurseries from this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show:
