A favourite with garden designers, every year Angelica archangelica is one of the most admired and coveted plants at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show in May.  This is the perfect time to sow Angelica archangelica seeds; don’t miss out on this opportunity to introduce this glamorous and statuesque plant to your garden or allotment!

There’s no need to mess around with pots or compost, as Angelica archangelica become rather resentful if their roots are disturbed; therefore, sowing seeds directly where you want your plants to grow is both the easiest and most successful option.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 (part two)

Welcome to part two of my overview of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 (if you missed part one, please click here).  Let me take you on a tour of the gardens and exhibits I visited at this year’s very special autumn RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021…..

The Welcome to Yorkshire Garden

At this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show I couldn’t wait to visit the Welcome to Yorkshire show garden, which was designed by Mark Gregory and built by Mark and Landform Consultants.  This show garden took a picturesque, heart-warming view of the Yorkshire countryside to the centre of London, where I was there, ready to welcome this garden with open arms!

Specialist Plant Nurseries

The RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show features an array of award winning specialist nurseries, this is a fabulous place to buy plants!  Whether you’re looking for South African plants, hardy plants, drought tolerant plants, indoor plants, air plants, orchids, ferns, ivy, clematis, herbaceous perennials, bulbous plants, or succulents, you’re sure to find your favourite at this special show!

The Telegraph Garden was designed by Andy Sturgeon and built by Crocus.  The RHS judges presented The Telegraph Garden with a Gold Medal, and the coveted award of Best in Show.

Remembering the sense of awe and wonderment that he felt visiting The National History Museum, for the first time as a child, Andy Sturgeon has used his childhood memories as the inspiration for his design for The Telegraph Garden.

The Homebase Garden – An Urban Retreat was awarded a Gold Medal by the Royal Horticultural Society Judges at the 2015 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The Homebase Garden – An Urban Retreat was designed by Adam Frost

The Garden was built by Bespoke Outdoor Spaces

The Garden was sponsored by Homebase

I caught up with designer Adam Frost at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, to find out more about the Gold Medal winning garden, The Homebase Garden – An Urban Retreat, which Adam designed for the 2015 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
