Meadows epitomise the picturesque idyllic summer garden that so many of us dream of.  However, creating a successful meadow is often more of a challenging project than we anticipate.  Whether you’re creating a new meadow or fixing a failed meadow, August and September are the months that meadow gardeners must spring into action!

Preparation is the key to success.  It’s easy to rush soil preparations, giddy with the excitement of sowing seeds – this is where most people fail. 

Things to look our for when you’re setting up a new Terrarium

I’m currently in the process of setting up a new terrarium, which is very exciting!  Don’t worry, I’ll take you on a tour of my new Tall Orchidarium in due course.  However, today I wanted to tell you about something unexpected that happened to me, while I was gathering together the materials for this new enclosure.

The L’Occitane Garden was designed by James Basson, and built by Peter Dowle.  The RHS judges awarded the L’Occitane Garden a Gold Medal, at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of beauty brand L’Occitane, garden designer James Basson, has looked back at the roots of L’Occitane, focussing on how and where the company was created.  L’Occitane was started in 1976, in Haute Provence, when Oliver Baussan found an old steam distiller that had been discarded.
