New Features of the New BiOrbAir Terrarium BiOrbAir terrarium features

I love my BiOrbAir terrariums!  I so enjoy growing miniature orchids, ferns, and other terrarium plants inside these specialised, automated terrariums.  I loved the older BiOrbAir terrarium models, but I have been so impressed with the new 2017 BiOrbAir terrarium model, and the fantastic improvements that have been made to this new, updated terrarium, which was designed by Barry Reynolds.

I am so very lucky to have a beautiful, new BiOrbAir terrarium!

I decided to plant up this very special terrarium with orchids that are endemic to Madagascar, to highlight and raise awareness of the fragility of this very special place on Earth, and showcase the beauty of Madagascar’s plants.  Many of the orchids that are found growing in Madagascar are not found anywhere else on Earth.

Madagascar is an amazing island that’s situated off the South East coast of Africa.  Madagascar is a special place, it’s is home to a large number of interesting and amazing orchids, many of which are only found in this one special area of our planet.

In order to highlight the beauty of Madagascan orchids – and to raise awareness of the fragility of their home environment – I have planted a specialised, automated BiOrbAir terrarium from BiOrb with orchids that are endemic to Madagascar.

A terrarium or bottle garden can be a beautiful feature in your home.  Terrariums can look spectacular when planted with your favourite plants that are suited to growing in a humid environment, and often need no adornment, but you may wish to enhance your planting using a piece of wood or bark, some decorative stones or crystals, or even a specially chosen ornament.

It’s not always easy to navigate inside a terrarium or bottle garden, but having the right tools makes things much more straightforward, and fun rather than frustrating.

The plants inside my BiOrbAir have so far received very little attention since I planted them.  Any work I have undertaken has been documented in my long term review of my BiOrbAir terrarium.

Removal of terrarium pests

Recently I have been having problems with a family of woodlice, who were unintentionally installed inside my BiOrbAir terrarium, when I placed a piece of real wood inside my BiOrbAir, as a decorative feature, when I initially planted up the terrarium.

Size does matter and I’ve received quite a few questions asking how big the BiOrbAir is. The answer to the question is the BiOrbAir is 56cm or 22 inches in height and 50cm or 19.5 inches diameter.  I have taken some photos to clearly show the size of the terrarium, I hope they are helpful for you.  I think the size of the BiOrbAir is just right, it’s large enough to grow a variety of plants and create a picturesque landscape within, but not too large that it looks uncomfortable.
