Daffodil Shows and Competitions 2020

There are so many lovely daffodil shows and competition held by horticultural societies, plant societies, and gardening clubs in springtime.  I want to help you to find your local show, so I’ve compiled this calendar of daffodil shows and competitions.

2020 Daffodil Gardens and Events

Daffodils are such cheerful flowers.  Full of hope and heralding the start of springtime; daffodils are a joy to behold.  Being such a popular flower, daffodils have been bred, selected, and re-selected, over a great many years, which has resulted in the creation of a diverse range of daffodil flowers.  We can now purchase daffodils that grow to a range of sizes and heights, choosing from bulbs that produce dramatically different coloured flowers and various sizes of daffodil blooms. 

Daffodil Gardens to Visit this Springtime

If you’re looking for a superb day out this springtime, I’ve got plenty of ideas for you!  Here are some cheerful daffodil gardens where you can take an uplifting walk among the glowing daffodil flowers, in the spring sunshine!  Some of these gardens, like Winkworth Arboretum, are planted with early flowering daffodils that bloom in December, January, and February.

Snowdrop Events Calendar 2020

Welcome to my 2020 Snowdrop Gardens, Talks, Events, and Open Days Calendar!  Here are the dates, and all the details of the openings of the most beautiful and magnificent snowdrop gardens across the UK, Ireland, America, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands.  These gardens are all opening to allow visitors the chance to experience the joy of visiting their snowdrop collections.  

Bluebell Woods and Bluebell Gardens

Bluebell woods and spring gardens full of bluebells are such wonderfully uplifting places to visit.  I hope you can enjoy time in amongst the bluebells this season, so you can envelop yourself with the scent and beauty of these awe-inspiring flowers.  I hope that you’ll enjoy this truly magical time of year!

I am a huge fan of our native bluebells – also known by their latin name of Hyacinthoides non-scripta – with their dainty, nodding, scented blue flowers.

Daffodils are such cheerful flowers, heralding the start of springtime, they are a joy to behold.  As daffodils are such a popular flower, they’ve been bred and selected over a great many years, which has resulted in the creation of many different varieties of daffodils.  Consequently, you can find daffodils flowering from as early as December, until late May, and beyond, in cooler areas of the country.

Welcome to my 2019 Snowdrop Gardens, Talks, Events, and Open Days Calendar!  Here are the dates, and all the details of the openings of some of the most beautiful and magnificent snowdrop gardens across the UK, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, and Germany; these gardens are all opening especially, to allow visitors to experience the joy of seeing their snowdrop collections.  

Remembering loved ones

When you’ve lost someone you love, it’s natural to want to arrange a fitting memorial and to plan a meaningful tribute in their memory.  Memorials of any kind are such a personal choice, but I want to help you by sharing some information and ideas of ways that you could leave a lasting legacy, one that will beautifully celebrate the life of someone close to your heart, whilst being kind to the environment. 

Mothering Sunday, also known as Mother’s Day, will be held on Sunday 11th March 2018, in the UK.  If you’re looking for a special family day out, you might be interested in discovering more about the following gardens and attractions, which are offering free entry to Mothers, or other special offers on Mother’s Day 2018.  Some of these Mother’s Day offers differ, so I’ve listed the details of each event for Mother’s Day 2018 offer separately for every venue.

Royal Horticultural Society Daffodil Competitions and Shows

RHS Garden Rosemoor
Rosemoor Daffodil Competition will be held on Saturday 10th March 2018 and Sunday 11th March 2018.  On Saturday, the Rosemoor Daffodil Competition will open at 11.30am after judging has finished.  The Early Camellia Competition and the Hyacinth Competition will also be held on the same weekend at Rosemoor.  

Daffodils are such cheerful flowers, heralding the start of springtime, they are a joy to behold.  There are many different varieties of daffodils, so consequently you can find daffodils flowering from as early as December until late May, and beyond in cooler areas of the country.  Which is wonderful, as it provides us with plenty of time to enjoy and appreciate the daffodil’s beauty!

The RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show features an array of award winning specialist nurseries, this is a fabulous place to buy plants!  Whether you’re looking for South African plants, hardy plants, drought tolerant plants, indoor plants, air plants, orchids, ferns, ivy, clematis, herbaceous perennials,  bulbous plants, or succulents, you’re sure to find your favourite at this special show!
